A colloid mill works well as a herbal extracts grinder because its rotor-stator gap can be adjusted down to microns, breaking dried plant material into a fine, uniform slurry that greatly increases surface area for solvent contact during extraction. This improves yield and consistency compared to coarse grinding alone, and the enclosed housing also helps contain dust and minimize loss of fine plant particles during processing.
