Colloid mill CLM-250.3
The GlobeCore CLM-250.3 colloid mill is engineered to produce highly stable colloidal solutions, ultra-fine suspensions, mixtures, and emulsions – delivering consistent results even for the most demanding formulations.
How It Works
The CLM-250.3 uses a conical rotor/stator design – a wet-grinding technique where the gap between rotor and stator is wider at the inlet and progressively narrows toward the outlet.
As the product moves through this narrowing gap, centrifugal force combined with high relative rotor speed drives intensive processing. Liquid and semi-liquid substances are simultaneously:
- Finely dispersed
- Emulsified
- Homogenized
This dual-action design allows dispersion and homogenization to happen at the same time, in a single pass.
A heating/cooling jacket surrounds the grinding zone, letting operators precisely control temperature during processing – whether the formulation calls for heating or cooling.
Why It Delivers Results
The CLM-250.3 combines high processing speed with exceptional precision:
- Produces highly stable emulsions and colloidal suspensions
- Achieves particle sizes down to 1 micron for superior homogenization
- Generates cavitation within the mill, further enhancing processing intensity
- Retrofits into existing production lines, making it a flexible upgrade option
For best results, product should enter the mill with a consistent solid-to-liquid phase ratio and at a steady feed rate. Final particle size and throughput will vary depending on the physical and mechanical properties of the material and carrier phase being processed.

** Optional equipment.
- Compact size.
- Design components of the mill wetted portion are made of stainless, chemical resistant steel.
- The mill can be equipped with rotor/stator tooling of various designs and with different numbers of processing stages (rings), depending on the type of material being processed and the required processing effect (nozzle, chamber, and conical for grinding applications or viscous products). The tooling can be either collapsible or manufactured from a solid workpiece using various grades of steel, depending on the mill application.
- The mill can be operated both indoors and in sheltered outdoor environments.
